Prompt and delayed gamma rays induced by epithermal and fast neutrons with indium

Abstract The emission of prompt and delayed gamma rays from (n,?) (n,n´?) reactions induced by irradiation indium with epithermal fast neutrons was investigated the instrument FaNGaS operated at Heinz-Maier-Leibnitz Zentrum (MLZ) in Garching. average neutron energy spectrum 2.30 MeV. measurement done an angle 90° between beam detector. A total 136 lines which 42 are related to capture 94 inelastic scattering were detected together activation products 113m In, 114m2 115m 116m2 In 116m In. Intensities averaged isotopic partial cross section presented. Additionally sections reactions, 113 In(n,n´) In(n,?) 115 15m In(n, ?) determined corresponding formed isotopes as 143 ± 22, 288 13 194 18, 201 10 508 24 mb respectively. various results obtained found consistent literature data. However, our indicate need reevaluate reaction for thermal neutrons.
